The year 2009 is very important for Taekwon-Do life in Lower Silesia in Poland, because it is 30th Anniversary of Taekwon-Do in this part of Poland. In 1979 it was opened first taekwon-Do club in this region. The year 2009 is also the 35th anniversary of Taekwon-Do in Poland (in 1974 the first Polish Taekwon-Do Club was founded in Lublin).
Representatives of Taekwon-Do in Lower Silesia from 7th to 8th November 2009 organized the official celebration of this jubilees. “Dworek Galosa” in Stronie Sląskie, the venue of the event, gathered 23 people. Among the invited guests were the people, who have the biggest impact on Taekwon-Do in Lower Silesia the Presidents of the local Clubs, the coaches and the competitors well known not only in Poland, but all over the world. There were presented inter alia: Mr. Waldemar Dolecki, and Grzegorz Ozimek, the members of PTA Board of Directors and the coaches of National Polish Female Team, Mr. Zbigniew Semp, the member of PTA Board Of Directors, Mr. Łukasz Stawarz, the member of PTA Board of Directors Adam Alenowicz, member of the PTA Revisory Commission, Marzanna Pawlik, world champion, European champion, member of National Polish Female Team and Łukasz Sudak, European Champion, member of National Polish Male Team.
The schedule of the celebration was very tight. Everyone arrived on Saturday afternoon to take part in common training session at the same gym, where Vth Polish Senior Championships in 1993 was held, the first tournament on this level organized in that part of Poland. Although has been about 4 years since last their common seminar the Lower Silesian coaches presented very high level of their skills.
After the training session, at 8 p.m there was high time to eat something. The toast, delicious dishes and the spectacular cake, long-lasting discussion, as well as singing the Taekwon-Do anthem it a memorable event for every participant.
Although the official dinner finished in the late night hours the next day there was no time to rest. After breakfast, the whole group went to rope course Skalisko in Zloty Smok to spend the day trying extreme sport. It was very demanding 2 hours for everyone. They had to overcome many obstacles, but as a real warriors, everybody, with no fear managed to meet the destination point.
The celebration was closed by the lunch, where all participants shared they opinions. Everyone agreed that they all had spent a great time in Stronie Śląskie practising Taekwon-Do and having fun.
