The third edition of Masters Mazovia Cup 2009 fulfilled the expectations of Martial Arts fans. The stars did not disappoint the audience and presented the highest European level of Taekwon-Do. Exceptionally exciting was the fight in the heaviest category - over 71 kg, in which the three-times World Champion Dariusz Idzikowski was the uncontested winner. In the final he beat Daniel Działa from Lewart Lubartów. Surprisingly, one of the best fighters in Europe, Igor Maksimienko From Ukraine did not even get through to the semi-finals.

Very interesting was also the category up to 63 kg. Like it was last year, once again Paweł Szawejkowski, who beat Kamil Kurkowski, the current Polish Champion, and in the final great competitor from Ukraine, Artem Shumov, is the winner.

The new record of nopi apcha busigi was set by Michał Grzybowski from Taekwon Warszawa, at the height of 275 cm! The great condition presented Ekaterina Kozlachkova from Russia (the current European Champion in Senior Female Sparring to 70 kg), who won in three divisions: sparring over 63 kg, patterns II – VI Degree and the special techniques.

Masters Mazovia Cup was the last test for the members of Polish National Team before the World Championships in Argentina in November.

This tournament was held under the patronage of Mr. Adam Struzik, the Marshall of mazowieckie voivoidship and Mr Waldemar Wardziński, The President of Ciechanów.
