Sponsor of the 3rd European Cup

Less than a month left to European Taekwon-Do Cup to be held on 9th – 11th October in Lublin, Poland. We asked a few questions regarding the organization of this event to Master Tadeusz Loboda, VIIth Degree:

• WB: Due to the fact that the first deadline was on Saturday, 12th September, we are wondering how many participants have already applied to European Cup Lublin 2009?
• TŁ: To the European Cup has enrolled participants from 13 countries: Albany, Belarus, England, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Romania, Scotland, Slovenia, Sweden, and Poland, of course. About 400 competitors will take part at this tournament. The biggest group, besides Poland, will be from Ukraine, 76 participants. Also the Hungary enrolled the big team, 30 competitors and Russia about 40 people. The list of participant will be available in the next News about European Cup.
• WB: What is the Organizing Committee working on right now?
• Tł: We have just finished the artistic side of the competition. The projects of posters, diplomas, tickets and T-shirts are ready. We are discussing the details concerning the patronage. It is likely that Mr. Miroslaw Drzewiecki, the Minister of Sports in Poland will honour the Final Gala with his presence.
• WB: What are the main challenges to take?
• TŁ: From Monday, we are planning to start printing all of the project and the publicity campaign. We are also discussing all the details regarding performance on Final Gala.
• WB: When talking about Final Gala, what are your plans?
• TŁ: We don’t want to go into details. But I think that it will surprise everyone.
• WB: What the competitors shall expect?
• TŁ: For the first time the European Cup will be played in Repasage System, to two losses. The second new thing is that Juniors may take part in that competition, not only Seniors, like it used to be. Very important thing is that it is a great opportunity to test yourself just for a month before World Championships in Argentina 2009. For competitors, who are not a member of a national team it is a great chance to take part in a competition on a very high, international level. As you can see every competitor would take the advantage from participating in European Cup.
