Early August in London can mean only one thing, Master Jedut 7th degree is in town conducting the Docklands Summer Camp. This is the 9th year this camp has been running and in that time Master Jedut has brought over with him many of his students, some who are household names in the Taekwon-Do world such as Jaroslaw Suska, Anita Pasek-Suska, Joanna Lipa, Marius Walach, Daniel Dziala. This year was to be no different as Marcin Wronowski a champion and member of the successful Poland Team, accompanied him. This year the camp was run over 7 days. The first 5 days - Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August were evening sessions only, ranging from 2 to 3 hours. The Saturday and Sunday sessions were early morning starts lasting for 3 hours. All the sessions were conducted in an up tempo style that had each participant finishing in a completely wet uniform. Throughout the 7 days various students attended, but Marcela Capaja (Junior England team member) was the only participant to attend all the sessions. Daniel Farrell (Senior England team member) and Christopher Denis attended 6 sessions.
Apart from students from England, Sweden was represented by Arto Ala-Haivala 3rd degree and Norway by Thea Johanne Ness 1st kup.
No summer camp would be complete without a trip to one of the many theme parks in England and this year saw a trip to Thorpe Park, which boasted a new ride called SAW that got the thumbs up sign from Master Jedut.
Docklands would like to thank Master Jedut and his student Mr Wronowski for taking the time to come over and conduct successful sessions. Next year will be even bigger and better as it is the 10th anniversary.
