UKTF British Championships 2009

This year’s UKTF British Championships were held at the Bell’s Sport Centre, Perth and had a truly International feel with 350 competitors from Norway, Ireland, England, Scotland and our friends from Global Taekwon-Do.

Our guests of honour were Master O’Toole and Master Douglas from the Irish National Taekwon-Do Association (INTA), Master Dennis from the England Taekwon-Do Association (ETA), Mr Erwin Ayala Bonilla from ITF Norway and Mr Condie from Global Taekwon-Do UK (GTUK).

As always the competition was of a very high standard with some elite competitors including Miss Julia Cross, World Champion, Mr Mark McGeachie, European Silver medallist and some stars of the future, we are sure! Although all competitors performed fantastically a few students are recognised for their achievements as overall winners within their respective age group.

Overall winner 12-15 age group was Jake Eadie (Muireston). Overall winner senior male +30 was Mr Piotr Capaja (ETA). All other age groups were tied so no award can be given. The award to the top school/club this year is awarded to Miss Julia Cross, Instructor of South Queensferry who won 11 Gold’s, 5 Silver and 13 Bronze medals, Congratulations!

The UKTF would like to thank Masters Sutherland & Dunbar for their efforts in organising and running such a successful competition. Also thank you to all the umpire’s who attended and worked extremely hard throughout the day and finally a huge thanks to all the competitors and spectators who without we would not be able to host such a event.
