On Sunday 5 April 2009 the Dutch National Championships 2009 were held in Nijmegen with the organizing club TC Nijmegen of Mr. Rob Arens, 3rd Degree and member of the Board of ITF-Netherlands. The items individual patterns, sparring, special techniques and breaking for the titles to win. In total there were 13 clubs (of total of 20 clubs), 191 participants in the categories youth, juniors and seniors A, B, C and D, 41 referees from A to D class.
The patterns, sparring and special techniques were finished at 17.00 o’clock and the special techniques and breaking for juniors and seniors at 19.30 o’clock. It was a good day for the organizers Henny van Zon, Martin Schellens and Patrick den Hoed and writer of this article of the Umpire Committee, competitors, coaches and supporters.
For the first time at the National Championships the flag system was introduced for declaring a jump or breaks valid or not. This worked very well and the initiator, Patrick den Hoed was very satisfied with the result of this and saved a lot of time during competitions.
Landal Greenpark, the official sponsor of the organizing club TC Nijmegen offered the overall winners six prices for a free holiday with their family in a luxurious resort. The results of the championships is attached to this article. We like to thank Landal and Mr. Rob Arens for getting this great award for the competitors and their families.
The President of the ITF Netherlands, Master James Tjin-A-Ton and the Secretary General, Martin Schellens signed the official contract for the sponsorship with Musubi Sport. The competitors and coaches for the European Championships in Spain 2009 were presented in there official outfit from the new sponsor.
On behave of the Board of ITF Netherlands, Mr. Chiel Rombout was congratulated for getting his 6th degree during the IIC in New York last month.
