In the Samara region, in the city of Toliaty, from 27th February 2009 to 1st March 2009 the Russian National Championships took place.

In that tournament there were 450 competitors from 27 regions of Russia. The participants could have competed in all categories: Juniors and Seniors, male and female, pattern, free sparring, special technique, power test and pre traditional free sparring.

These were very important championships for participants because the Russian National Championships is also a time for selection members for National Russian Team for Euros 2009 in Benidorm, Spain.
