Practicing ITF Taekwon-Do can bring us more than just as a sport, martial arts, a way of life, giving and sharing to each other, to strive for justice, freedom and a peaceful world. But also as a tool for social development. Particularly with the last one we wanted to do more:

Of 17 to 21 February Master James Tjin-A-Ton (president ITF Netherlands), his student Sabum Mohamed Ait Benali (from Marocco and born in Ouarzazate) and his wife boosabum Liesbeth Willems of Taekwon-Do In Nae Do Kwan have left to Ouarzazate to visit an organization financially supporting children and adults at obtaining orthopedic and physiotherapeutic aid.

In Ouarzazate we had an appointment with someone of the Association horizon (www.associationhorizon.tk). Here people children and adults with a mental and/or physical handicap can get help. The health care in Morocco has not yet been well regulated as at us. The major part of the population has not been insured for health care, all costs must themselves be paid, whereas the average income is not very high. They search for the financial resources. Support can be: making prosthesis, orthopaedic shoes, physiotherapy, and accompaniment of parent/child (with the down syndrome or autism).

To get some extra money by making hand made decorative stuff what the sell in their own shop. Disabled are learned this way also a profession.

Taekwon-Do In Nae Do Kwan support social development by donates all the money when somebody’s is coming for the first training session, of course we also try to get more money from other funds.
