It is a pleasure to share all our activities we had in our ITF Switzerland Taekwon-Do Federation in the year 2008 with all those who are interested for us. Like every year can we look back to an interesting performance of our different schools. We also can feel the effect of the fact that we had an increase of new Members. The cohesion between all the Teachers is quite good.

We are also very pleased for all the Volunteers, where we could experience, when we needed support for anything. All the Members of the ITF Swiss want to thanks Jorge und Maruja Züger for their big dedication and work. They made a great impression on all of us.

February 2008

In the beginning of the year we had the 4th general meeting. After this encounter we had some chances on the board of directors and we also have spoken about many important matter. Everyone who was present on the meeting could bring different opinion. We could finish our meeting with a good feeling.

March 2008

On 15th March took place the Examination of 22 students with coloured belts in the Taekwon-Do School Rüti. Members from the School Rüti and Wald took part. All those students reached successful the next Kup. They were reward with a distinction.

April 2008

On April 3, took place the Annual meeting of the Taekwon-Do Association of Fribourg.

May 2008

From 16th to 18th May Sebastien Lesueur took part in sparring over 80 kg at the XIV Junior and XXIII Senior European Championships in Wroclaw, Poland.

June 2008

5 students from the Taekwon-Do School Rüti took part on the Bavarian Open Championship in Schwabenmünchen (Germany). They could win two bronze Medals and two silver on this competition.

The Taekwon-Do School Rüti organized also an important event for children in this month, the Summer Camp. The children had a lot fun and they could learn and see TKD from a different aspect.

The camp was composed of variable programs. TKD-Training, playing on countryside and inside cabin, to eat together, to learn from each other and to respect the person opposite to you. Jorge Züger told the children about philosophy and history of TKD.

 

On June 21 took also place at the same weekend the Open air training in Pont-la-Ville with the students of the Taekwon-Do Association of Fribourg.

July 2008

4 Members of the Taekwon-Do School Rüti took part from 28th to 29th on the IV Veneto Open Championship -The Adriatic Games in Jesolo (Venice), Italy. They could win two bronze Medals and two silver on this competition.

On July 16 took place a Special training for the children and their families in the Taekwon-Do Association of Fribourg

Every year is the village `Rüti` organizing a celebration, where different activities can present in front of villager. This year the Taekwon-Do School Rüti took part of this event, where we can make people fill with enthusiasm.

The students made demonstration of Patterns, Sparring, Special Technique, prearranged sparring, power breaking.

September 2008

Every year are realized the day of the open doors in The Taekwon-Do School Rüti and Wald. A lot of people came to look our different Demonstration and was very impression. We got new members.

 

October 2008

A team of 10 Competitors took part at the World Cup in Riva del Garda Italy. This was the first time that our national association took part with the participation of members of different Schools of Switzerland (Fribourg, Wald and Rüti). This was a very good experience for all competitors. We obtain 2 Bronze and 2 Silver in Sparring.

December 2008

On December 1, took place a second Special training for the children and their families in the Taekwon-Do Association of Fribourg.

 

On December 13, the Taekwon-Do Association of Fribourg organized an Open day Taekwon-do for the opening of a new school in Noréaz.

 

The last Examination in the Taekwon-Do School Rüti took place for this year. 29 colours students could reach the next belt. We had a new 1st Degree and 2nd Degree.

Closing comments

Our National Association closed the year 2008 with 128 Active Members. 120 members are colour belts and 8 black belts, from them 3 are instructors. In July-August 2009 we expect to have 5 new black belts, 1 from Fribourg and 4 from Rüti.

All the Members, Children and Adults, of TKD ITF Switzerland are ready to continue. We are going on to make TKD more popular as good as we can. Our destination with TKD is to have a better life. Through the Sport can we do a lot for our body and head, at last for health. All this quality gives us also a sense for our life and makes us feeling good.
