On 13th December in Moscow – the capital city of Russia, the annual cup Moscow Challenge took place for the seventh time. For that event, lasting just one day, 799 competitors from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Latvia and Ukraine met in one of the central Moscow Olympic sports halls.
The Moscow challenge is the biggest junior cup in Russia. This competition is organized only for juniors because all the seniors take part in this event as the members of organizing committee and the umpires. This time it was covered by three the biggest TV channels in Russia. All Russia Taekwon-Do Federation had made a big effort to promote this tournament. This time the media were very helpful.
At the beginning only the Challenge Cup was such an enormous event in Russia, but nowadays there are organized tournaments in almost every region of that country. Despite this fact, Challenge Cup still remains the biggest one, because of rapid growing number of Taekwon-Do practitioners in Russia. We believe that more number of countries will participate in our tournament in upcoming years and we are sure that the number of members of Russian Taekwon-Do will increase.
