The calendar of activity for the year 2008 began for Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-do with the very significant event which was the International Instructor Course held from 1st to 3rd February in Thessaloniki, Greece. There were 4 participants representing Bulgaria. Two of them - Mr. Julian Iliev and Mr. Vencislav Ignatov (BAT President) got promoted to 3rd Degree.

 

Another very important issue for the development of our organization was the recognition of the status of the degrees certificates of Mr. Boris Atanasov - Secretary General of BAT - actually 5th Degree.

The sports calendar of BAT started on 23rd of February. In the Sports Hall in the Rakovski Sport complex in the city of Sofia was organized competition for children aged 7-11 years.

The 80 children competed in sparring, pattern and special technique. This was the first Taekwon-do event which was sponsored by the Mayor of Triaditsa municipality (part of Sofia city) Mr. Evtim Evtimov.

The next competition was for the Levski Cup - organized this time for juniors. The contest was held in a sport hall in Georgi Asparuhov Stadium. There were 90 participants competing in sparring, pattern and special technique. Once again the event organized by BAT was sponsored by municipality Mayor this time of Poduyane region (part of Sofia city) - Mrs. Eva Mitova.

From the 4th to 6th April Bulgarian Association of Taekwon-do organized for the first time a seminar in Semkovo resort in Rila Mountains. There were 44 participants - instructors, umpires and assistants of BAT. Mr. Vencislav Ignatov, Mr. Mario Iliev and Mr. Boris Atanasov conducted together this seminar. The main purpose of the class was the unification of teaching Taekwon-do and sharing impressions of the 31st IIC in Greece.

The instructors shared and exchanged different ways of stretching, kicks and punches way of perfection, self-defense techniques. For the first time Mr. Vencislav Ignatov conducted a class where he shared his personal experience of club management and ways of resource achieving from different public organizations for the different activities related to Taekwon-do. The seminar finalized with exam for black belts.
