Trails Squat ITF Netherlands [December 11th, 2007]

Behind the jury table Randy Brouwer and Jimi Ziermans from the club Taekwon-Do IN NAE DO KWAN. At right: Mitchell Bryan and Mark in action: Mark scored many points with his dollyo chagi’s and he was winner.

The selection off ITF Netherlands is preparing themselves for the European Championship 16-18 may 2009 in Wroclaw, Poland.

Almost every month there is a national squat training under the responsibility of the Training Selection Commission (Sahyun James&Sabum Robert). Today the trails, because in the junior division there are only two juniors allowed and in the senior division only one. A trial is one of the ways to detriment a winner unfortunately there are always winners and losers in competition.

Now the division sparring senior-63 kg, Bryan and Mark where the only competitors because Gework was 100gr to heavy and was out of competition, Raven was injured.

Jamil scoring with dollyo chagi. In the second round a lot off “boxing”. The next trial was Nizam against Tim 80+ kg senior. Tim scored very good point on the head with his very excellent foot tecnicks. So he will be the competitor. Tim scored dollyo chagi on the head (three pionts).

Boosabum Jamil; world champion -71 kg 2007 Quebec Canada, in spite of his world title he also has to compete with his rival Iwan. With the weight in Jamil was 1,5 kg to heavy, so he had to run up and down. Gladly he succeed. Of course this wasn’t a good preparation for the trail. In the first two minutes Jamil made very good points with his fist and dollyo chagi. In the second round it was the opposite. Iwan scored points with his fast kicks on the body. So Jamil lost the trail and he cannot compete in the individual division -71 kg. Of course as a member of the team ITF Netherlands.

Of course to lose in a trail is very unfortunately and very sad. But we hope that the competitor will be inspired to train harder and will continue to train with the other members as a team, and support them.
