ITF England Technical Seminar

On Sunday 11th November 2007, the ITFE Technical Director, Nick Symonds 5th Degree, hosted the 1st ITFE Technical Seminar. There were 80 participants present at the Seminar, from 10th Kup to 6th Degree.

All aspects of Taekwon-Do were covered on the day. The first part of the Seminar was devoted to Competition Sparring: Matt Cadle 2007 63kg World Champion, and Felix Kelly 2007 63kg European Champion, led the morning session. All the students had an opportunity to draw upon the knowledge and skill of these two fantastic athletes.

After a two hour workout with the Champions, we had the pleasure of ITFE President Master Ellis 8th Degree and Master Nardizzi 7th Degree taking the participants through Patterns and Step Sparring. This was a very informative session and was greatly appreciated by all the students.

After lunch we were amazed by the expertise of Mr Mark Davies 4th degree, who had travelled from Scotland to give a detailed Seminar in Self Defence. With a background in training Special Forces, Mr Davies demonstrated effective ways to escape from basic situations relating to armed and unarmed combat.

After seven hours of training, the Seminar came to a close, with everyone having had a fantastic day. We hope the next year’s Seminar is even bigger and better.

Instructors Present on the Day:

I would like to thank all of the above for their commitment and continued support.

Taekwon,
Mr Nick Symonds 5th Degree
ITFE Technical Director.
