From 19th to 21st October 2007 the Headquarter of AETF was visited by the delegation of Hellenic Taekwon-do ITF Union consisted of Master Panagiotis Gialamas – President, Master Vasilios Alexandris – Secretary General and Master Dimitrios Kosmoglou – Treasurer.
Master Tom MacCallum – the Treasurer of ITF, representing of ITF Executive Committee as well as Mr. Lazaros Tsilfidis, the President of All Russian Taekwon-do Federation took also part in this meeting. All Europe Taekwon-do Federation was represented during the meeting by Mr. Tadeusz Loboda, Mr. Jerzy Jedut and Ms. Malgorzata Rogaczewska. The meeting’s subject was to establish the cooperation and to clear all procedures being in force in both organizations ITF and AETF.
The representatives of Hellenic Taekwon-do ITF Union are the people who grow up on Taekwon-do in Greece.
Master Vasilis Alexandris – 7th Degree – was a precursor of Taekwon-do in Greece. He started to practice Taekwon-do on 1972. Many years he was fulfilling the function of the Vice-president of Hellenic Taekwon-do Federation. For very long time he was the Chairman of the Hellenic Demonstration Team, which has made among other the demonstration show during the European Championship 1998 in Thessaloniki.
Master Panagiotis Gialamas was from 1996 to 2002 the Secretary General of All European Taekwon-do Federation. He started his marriage with Taekwon-do on 1975. He is 7th Degree as well.
Master Dimitris Kosmoglou – 7th Degree as well – was World Champion in the sparring category over 80 kg during the World Championships in 1984 in Glasgow. He was 6 times Champion of Greece. On 1980 he was the member of the World Demonstration Team who went with Gen. Choi to DPR Korea to present Taekwon-do there. He was for 9 years Greece National Coach and for 12 years Chief of Umpire Committee in Greece.
The meeting was proceeding in very nice and friendly atmosphere. The participants brought many times back memories of the common events as well as referenced to the anecdotes from the past.
At the end of the visit during the ceremonial dinner the participants enjoyed the polish traditional food and took this opportunity to exchange opinions and to talk about the future of Taekwon-do.
All participants together stressed the huge meaning and usefulness of this meeting, which was very important step for further cooperation.
