Newsletter Newsletter 3/2007 1st All North American and Caribbean Championship

The delegation of three people consisted Joanna Paprocka, Ilona Dziala and Piotr Kurkus was representing Poland as well as Europe on the 1st All North American & Caribbean Championship that was held from 29th to 30th September, 2007 in Queens, New York.

The main organizer of the championship was Master Ruben Suarez with the cooperation with the All North American and Caribbean Federation.

About 400 competitors from Canada, USA, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Anguila, Trinidad and Tobago and other Caribbean islands as well as Poland took part in that tournament.

With pleasure we would like to inform you that our representatives brought to the old continent 4 medals (3 gold and 1 bronze).

Ms. Joanna Paprocka (current World Champion up to 63kg) won the sparring category from 57,9 to 69 kg.

Ms. Ilona Dziala (current vice World Champion up to 58kg) won the sparring category up to 57,9 kg as well as the pattern I and II Degree.

Mr. Piotr Kurkus took third place and brought bronze medal in the sparring category over 80 kg.
