On Saturday June 23rd and Sunday June 24th, 2007 was held once again the Black Belt Grading. 56 people from whole Poland came to Lublin to participate in the testing (42 for the 1, 5 for the 2nd, 5 for the 3rd, 3 for the 4th and 1 person for the 5th Degree). For the second time on the invitation of Polish Taekwon-do Association the examiner was Master Ung Kim Lan, current ITF-Germany Vice-President and the German National Coach.
The grading was preceded with two days seminar which was the last chance to prepare well for the grading. But it was not only for the people who wanted to pass the exam. Everybody who are going to take the exam in the future as well as other people interested only in the seminar took part on it. More then 80 people were present.
The exam was split into two groups. The people for the Black Belt 1st Degree were the first group. The second group consists of 1st Degree and higher ranks. Each exam was also split in two parts. First of all the participants have to show their skills doing pattern, step and free sparing, self defense and some foot techniques. After that the examination committee chose people who in their opinion were good enough to do the second part. Next the participants had to prove by doing special- and power breaking and answering the questions of Taekwon-do theory that they are ready to become Black Belt.
The public was enjoying spectacular special techniques and power tests.
The examination committee consisted of Master Ung Kim Lan – 8th Degree, Mr. Jerzy Jedut, Mr. Zbigniew Bujak i Mr. Janusz Gutkowski (all 6th Degree) got promoted 38 people. Congratulations for everyone.
The next opportunity to take an exam for those who have failed this time and other will be in December.
