Newsletter Newsletter 1/2007 17th Junior & Senior Belgian Champs

On March 11th the national championships ITF-Belgium for juniors and seniors were held in Namur.

This 17th edition of the Belgian Championships included competition in tul, teamtul, pre-arranged sparring, sparring, powerbreaking and special techniques for coloured and black belts, juniors (14-17) and seniors. The BC for youth (6-13) had already taken place in February.

The local press was very interested in this competition, which had the support of the sportscouncil of the city of Namur.

The day started around 10.30 and we could close this 17th BC at 18.00, although there were a lot of different disciplines, thanks to the 30 umpires under guidance of the headreferee Mr. Eddy Van Damme. More than 80 competitors from 9 clubs were present (so with the youth BC included, this year about 135 members ITF-Belgium competed at the national championships).
