2nd Smolenice Open – Slovakia

   

On the 4th of November 2006 was held the 2nd SMOLENICE OPEN, an open competition in Taekwondo ITF for elementaries, juniors, seniors, colors and black belts. The main organizer was Sport Club Drako Smolenice Taekwon-Do ITF.

Smolenice is a community in West part of Slovakia. Around the Smolenice are big mountains Karpaty. Smolenice is known through Cave Driny and Castle. The competition was held in a biger town near Smolenice - Trnava.

The competition consisted of individual divisions in sparing and patterns and the competitors fouhgt by system each other. The tournament was for clubs.

6 clubs took part there, 2 from Poland (MKS Lewart Lubartow, Czestochowska Akademia TKD), 1 from Czech republic (School of TKD ITF SO-SAN Znojmo) and 3 domestic clubs. 81 participants took part in this event. We could have welcomed world known person in Taekwon-Do there – Mr. Jerzy Jedut, general secretary of A.E.T.F.

   

The best club was School of TKD ITF SO-SAN Znojmo from Czech republic, which colected 7 gold medals, 10 silver and 4 bronz medals. The best domestic club was SK TKD GE-BAEK TJ Slavia PU, which won 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals.

The main price, nice cup, gave Julius Holkovic, a head of Sport Club Drako Smolenice Taekwon-Do ITF to Frantisek Macek from Znojmo.

We would like to thanks all participants and we are looking forward to seeing each other in Smolenice Open 2007.
