General Assembly of ITF Taekwon-Do Finland gathered in Kuopio 13 October 2006. Almost all the clubs either by the delegates or proxy were present. General Assembly in Finland is called twice a year but the autumn meeting is usually carrying large load of emotions as the federation board is elected for the forthcoming year.
The federation board in 2007:
Another important item on the agenda concerned election of Directors for the key positions in the ITF Taekwon-Do Finland structure, taking charge for technical, educational, umpiring, promotion and marketing matters. Those elected for the duties were:
Assembly was filled with numbers of activity reports from the year 2006 and the plans for the forthcoming period.
Reports have shown that the structural changes taken 3 years ago had pushed the federation into the right direction. All the aspects of the ITF Taekwon-Do in Finland are developing and attracting more and more popularity nevertheless we are aware of the amount of work that still needs to be done to be fully satisfied of the outcome.
Currently junior activities and marketing aspects of the federation are key elements which require more attention. These two elements are also set as the main priorities for the forthcoming year.
Besides elections this meeting will surely remain in the Finnish Taekwon-Do history as remarkable day. After few years of turbulences caused by the split in the whole Taekwon-Do community our federation is slowly coming back to its initial form. We are very happy to announce that one of the largest clubs among Nordic countries “Taekwon-Do Akatemia” has re-joined ITF Taekwon-Do Finland (Suomen ITF Taekwon-Do). TKD Akatemia practices Taekwon-Do in nearly 50 locations in Northern Finland offering classes for all the age groups. We hope that professional attitude and devotion will enhance the federation resources and benefit all the Taekwon-Do practitioners in Finland.
