TKD Power is a very well known Taekwon-Do group, practicing the original Taekwon-Do of General Choi Hong Hi, based across the south of England. The group which has approximately 250 members, of which there are over thirty black belts, is headed by Antony Panteli, V Dan.

The group has recently affiliated to Ellis Taekwon-Do Association and as such has become part of ITF England. Senior Instructor Antony Panteli relates that: “There has been so much confusion in recent years with the many separations that occurred following the death of General Choi Hong Hi. We have searched as a group for a long time for an ITF affiliation which is truly democratic and professional. I am pleased that I can, with every confidence, say that we have found exactly that with ITF England. Our members have already integrated very well with ITF England squad sessions and even participated in classes with ITF England’s senior members.”

TKD Power is a unique Taekwon-Do organisation. It is directed by its own teaching and learning committee which consists of member instructors who are also practicing professional educators working in schools, colleges and universities. The group relies heavily upon its vast academic experience, coupled with its extensive research and practice of Taekwon-Do science to facilitate a training syllabus based upon ITF Taekwon-do and contemporary pedagogical understanding.

Antony Panteli, himself formerly lectured in Computer Science at Canterbury University, a position he resigned only recently to concentrate full time on the development of TKD Power. Antony, who has presented doctoral research at international conferences and has had his research published in many scientific journals and publications, brings with him, not only his experience as an educator and a scientist, but also his front-line experience in the development and implementation of practical computer technology - which has helped TKD Power to develop innovative Taekwon-do technology such as wireless ITF format computerised scoring system and SMS spectator tournament voting.
