Summer Season in Finland

Summer season in Finland is usually quiet for Taekwon-Do practitioners as most of the clubs are limiting or even closing the activity for the holiday’s period.

Vammala Taekwon-Do club decided to use the summer period for attracting more kids into Taekwon-Do by offering trainings during the (HLU) Provincial Sport's Federation Summer Camp.

The camp had gathered nearly 250 children and teenagers. Participants had a chance to choose sports they wanted to train during 4 days camp or to try many sports. This year Vammala Taekwon-Do Club together with local Judo Club offered martial arts classes for the dedicated group of 18 children and nearly 100 kids took part in the trial Taekwon-Do classes.

Trainings were conducted by Vammala Taekwon-Do Club instructor and Finnish National Team Coach Mariusz Steckiewicz and trainings for the multisports groups were run by Ismo Mäkinen, 2 times World Champion. All the trainings were assisted by most experienced students of the Vammala Taekwon-Do Club: Mikko Virtanen, Ville Komulainen and Eini Inha.

At the end of the camp Mariusz Steckiewicz and Ismo Mäkinen gave short demonstration which met fantastic response from all the camp participants and teachers.

Many times participants expressed their excitement. The atmosphere, motivation and the fun seemed to put unforgettable moments in the kid's memories. The camp was excellent opportunity for many children to try lots of sports and for the instructors to get additional experience.
