ITF Tournament and Umpire Course
On March 31st - April 1st, 2006 in Budapest, Hungary have been held the I.T.F. Tournament & Umpire Course. Main organizer was Master Laszlo Harmat, 7th degree, who leads the Hungarian Taekwon-Do Federation and is the Chairman of the AETF Technical Committee.
The main purpose of the course was to:
- to introduce modifications in the ITF competition rules which shall be implemented from January 2006,
- to introduce modifications in ITF fundamental exercises and Patterns,
- to align umpires, coaches and technical directors around the world concerning umpiring and tournament organizational matters,
- to prepare umpires (4th degree and above) officiating in the upcoming World Championships to be held in Honduras 2006, Canada 2007 and World Cup - Spain 2006
The course was conducted by: Master Willem Jacob Bos 8th degree, the ITF Chairman of Tournament & Umpire Committee, Master Hector Marano 8th degree, the ITF Chairman of Instruction & Technique Committee, Master Pablo Trajtenberg, 8th degree - ITF Vice-president and member of the Technical Committee.
In Budapest attended also: Mr. Tadeusz Loboda - the AETF President, Mr. Jerzy Jedut - the AETF Secretary General and Master Orello Ellis 8th degree, President of ITF-England. Also in attendance were the members of the AETF Tournament & Umpire Committee Mr. Coos van de Heuvel, Netherlands, Giovanni Cecconato, Italy and Sandy Dunbar, Scotland.
They shall be in charge to organize the European Championships to be held in Romania next May 2006. Participants were accommodated in the Hotel "Stadion", the same hotel, used during the memorable European Championships 1984 and the World Championships 1988.
According to the comments of the participants the course was excelent and benificial.
