Newsletter Newsletter 1/2006 Technical Seminar In Ireland

On February 25-26 a technical seminar was held in Oblates Basketball Centre Inchicore Dublin, the technical committee of Master Brendan O Toole 7th Degree, Master Val Douglas 7th Degree, Mr Gerry Martin 6th Degree, conducted the seminar over two days for six hours each day with one hours lunch break.

Participants were from 4th kup to V Degree and all regions of Ireland were well represented most notably by all the senior instructor's was a great opportunity for the senior grades to get one on one instruction with Master O Toole in refining the technical content of the higher grade pattern's the students went through the patterns they then broke off into groups working with Master Douglas and Mr Martin. Areas covered on this seminar were Self Defence and Sparring, also included was the most recent addition to the ITF tournament prearranged sparring, a demonstration was given and everybody broke off with a partner to put together a routine which they had to perform for everyone to see.

It was a great two days trainig and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves,Master O Toole stressed the importance of constantly refining the technical content for the instructors all to teach exactly the same syllabus to their students in order to maintain a high standard within the association, we look forward to the next one!
