9th German Open

The 9th German Open, held in the year of the 40th anniversary of ITF Taekwon-Do in Germany, was one of the highlights of the anniversary celebration year. Chin-Gu Kwang-Jang, the organizing club, arranged the competion Hall and was always present with their volonteers when a hand was needed.

On Saturday(4th) and Sunday(5th, April) 200 Competitors from 6 countries, among them a lot of members of the national teams, took part in this event. Due to very bad weather conditions, competitors from Switzerland and the south of Germany could not make their way to Dortmund.

Saturday, was the day of the A- Youth, who showed impressive performances in tul and sparring. Sunday was the day of the Female and Male seniors. The tournament system: "Everybody versus everybody of a group" was well accepted by the competitors. This system provides the opportunity for the competitors to take part in the contest at a minimum of three times in each discipline.

To summarise this 9th German Open it was, because of the high standard of the competitors, a really good promotion of ITF Taekwon-Do in Germany. Thank you to all who came and we hope to have the opportunity to wellcome you again next year.
