9th Taekwon-Do Slovenia Open 2006

174 competitors from 34 clubs representing 10 countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Ireland, Poland, Netherlands, New Zealand, Slovakia, Slovenia and Ukraine took part in 9 th Taekwon-Do Slovenia Open, which was held on 18th February 2006 in the Sport Hall in Miklavz. Good organization, high level of sport skills among competitors, best athletes in the particular categories and unforgettable atmosphere made this competition a splendid sport event.

The competitors competed in 2 divisions: individual pattern and sparring.

The main organizer was Martial Arts Club "Hwarang" BB and Mr. Milan Prajner, the President of the club and the Chairman of the Organizing Committee. Mr. Sebastian Zemljiĉ was the Umpire Chief.

In the organization of the competition were also involved Bianka Tapilatu-Barada and Tomas Barada.

Tomas is one of the best titled competitors in the history of Taekwon-do, the first World Champion after the resumption of the independence by Slovenia and one of the most popular athletes in this country.

The registration of the competitors and the weight has been held in the dojang of Tomas and Bianka Barada, Œportni Center Barada called TAM. The big and small gym for the martial arts training and the aerobics, sauna, solarium, cafeteria and reach special equipment assortment for the martial arts and the office with the most important sport trophies of Mr. Barada consist the complex of TAM.

   

Every participant had chance to see, where used to train the competitors, drink or eat the sandwich in the cafeteria next to the gym and to admire the collection of the trophies and the pictures of the famous couple.

The finals took place with the full publicity area and the hot cheering support for the home competitors. There was prepared special lights and screens for the increase the level and success of the event.

During the finals the participants were the witnesses of uncommon demonstrations of Taekwon-do made by children, aerobisc, Tae-bo and fights on very high level.

   

The guest of the Championships was Mr. Tadeusz Loboda, the AETF President. The visit was a opportunity to exchange the opinions with the leaders, coaches and competitors for the Balkan countries. The main goal was also to recognize the capacity for the organization of the European Cup by the Slovenian Taekwon-do Association in the future. The final of the conversations was satisfactory.

Mr. Tadeusz Loboda has also the opportunity to talk with the new President of Slovenian Taekwon-do Association Mr. Zlatan Randelovic. They made the ceremony of awarding together.

Very interesting was also the meeting with the Secretary General of ITF Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Osme Malic, and the representatives ITF Croatia: Mr. Branko Pomahac, the Director of Croatian National Team.

There was also made a lot of decisions which help by the Taekwon-do development in particular Balkan countries.
