1st Smolenice Open 2005

On the 26th of November 2005 was held the 1 st SMOLENICE OPEN, an open competition in Taekwondo ITF for elementaries, juniors, seniors, colors and black belts.The main organizer was Sport Club Drako Smolenice Taekwon-Do ITF.

Smolenice is a community in West part of Slovakia. Around the Smolenice are big mountains Karpaty. Smolenice is known through Cave Driny and Castle.

   

The competition consisted of individual divisions in sparing and patterns and the competitors fouhgt by system each other. The tournament was for clubs. It was nice competition with character of family. 6 clubs took part there, 2 from Poland (MKS Lewart Lubartow, Krasnicka Akademia Taekwon-do), 1 from Hungary (SASOK club from Budapest) and 3 domestic clubs. Nearly 100 participants took part in this event, presenting high level on the categories. We could have welcomed world known persons in Taekwon-do there, for example: Milosz Moskaluk, Ilona Dziala and Gabor Szalay.

   

   

   

Smolenice Open 2005 - medals by clubs

The best club was SASOK from Hungary, which colected 7 gold medals, 4 silver and 3 bronz medals. The best domestic club was SK TKD GE-BAEK TJ Slavia PU, which won 6 gold medals, 5 silver and 7 bronze medals. The main price, nice cup, gave Paulina Hornackova, a head of community Smolenice to Gabor Szalay from Hungary. We would like to thanks all participants and we are looking forward to seeing each other in Smolenice 2006.
