Open Dutch Promat 2005 Big Success!

On Sunday 13th 2005 in Heeze, the Pro Martial Arts Tour, www.promatour.com organized the 3rd competition in its existence since 2004.

The Pro Martial Arts Tour are founded by Sabum Willy van de Mortel (6th degree) and Harry van Schaik (4th degree) and completed in a board of directors with Master James Tjin-A-Ton (7th degree). The goal of the Pro Martial Arts Tour is to organize new kind of events to create opportunities for competitors at a high level and in a more professional way.

   

   

The Open Dutch Championships 2005 were the first international tournament we organized and in total there were 29 clubs with a total of 311 competitors. The events were, individual sparring, duo sparring (tag-team rules), high kicking and a competition everybody fighting everybody for money prices called Pro Fight. With clubs out Belgium (ITF Belgium), Slovenia (2x, Team Tomaz Barada and Hyong), Ireland, Australia and the Netherlands.

In a professional set up sports hall the Pompemaker in Heeze all competitors fought on a professional mat, high quality surroundings and big trophies for the winners. In the Profight only the first price winner got a price according to the amount of competitors in the category. Winner took all!

The spectators were also the big winners at this day because all the squares were very closely to the audience so they good see the matches. More then 300 spectators entered the hall. Also a local radio-station send out a live broadcasting of the event and Sabum Willy van de Mortel was interviewed.

   

To thank our competitors from abroad we like to say a special thanks to Sabum Annick van Driessche (ITF Belgium), Sabum Tomaz Barada and Sabum Bianca Tapilatu (ITF Slovenie), Petra Zagoricnik (Slovenia, Hyong), Paul McNicholsen (Ireland) and Master Wijnand Tapilatu (ITF Netherlands) for there presence and support in our event. We hope to see them again next time.

Because of this well organized tournament by ITF affiliated schools, a club have made a appointment to speak with the board of directors concerning joining ITF-Netherlands.

In the future the Pro Martial Arts Tour is planning to organize more events like this and is in the making of a Pro League for 2007 for professional Taekwon-Do Martial Artist. Like to invite you to keep close look at our website the www.promatour.com.
