It is with great pleasure I welcome everybody to the 7th edition of Viking Cup International, which will be arranged in Skövde, Sweden between 8th and 9th of April 2006.

Viking Cup International was held for the first time in the year of 2000. Right from the start the competition was a big success with several medalists from the worlds and euros among the competitors.

There were also many participants from different countries who were in the beginning of their TKD-career. The opportunity of gaining international challenge at this early stage is absolutely a great advantage for future achievements.

Competitors from the following countries have during previous editions of Viking Cup International fought for the medals: Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, Holland, Ireland, Japan, Norway, Poland, Russia, Scotland, Sweden, Ukraine, Wales.

As usual the competition in sparring will be performed in the very popular pool and prequalification system that means that everybody, independent of their result, is guaranteed always more than only one fight.

It will be also two new things this time in comparison whit previous competitions. The first one is a separate division in sparring for juniors in the advanced category. The second one is a spectacular and different competition by the name: Free Special Techniques where competitors will break, with both kicks and punches, as many wooden boards as possible in only one jump. This event will have a very special prize to the winner.

As usual it will also be nice medals, prizes and for everybody certificates during the competition.
