8th Italian Open - Results

The 8th edition of the “Italian Open”, in Terracina (Italy), was a great success with 255 competitors from 8th countries, Italy – Spain – Poland – Scotland – England – Ireland – Czech Republic – Canada. During that wonderful weekend, the members of the Organising Committee: Master Wim Bos and Master Carmine Caiazzo, have done a great job - like always!

The competitions started Saturday morning, with the individual pattern competition (one optional pattern only) on three squares, the technical level was good.

After lunchtime, the afternoon started with a small opening ceremony, to celebrate Master Carmine Caiazzo promotion for 7th degree.

After that started the individual sparring competition with the colour belt categories. The Saturday’s competition was closed at 9.00 p.m., with the referee’s hard but great job.

After dinner, at 10.30 p.m. in the Hotel River, was organised a small party with music and dance really appreciated by the younger competitors, the party closed at 0.00 a.m.

Sunday morning easy day, team competition, started at 09.00 a.m. with senior team pattern on ring 2, and junior team sparring on ring 1 and 3. At 11.00 o’clock the competition was finished and started the “awarding ceremonies” for more or less 60 categories.

There were two busses to move the competitors from the hotel to sportshall. There was only one problem, only two referees from foreign countries, but for the competition there was enough Italian referees.

This edition of Italian Open, the first one with the team competition , was complete success!

We are looking forward for the next year, to repeat the success in the 9th edition, probably in Venice.

Taekwon!
