Swedish National Championships 2005

At the 12th of November the Swedish National Championships was held in Uddevalla which is a city situated in the southwest of the country. The national championship is the only competition in Sweden, which include all four ITF events: sparring, pattern, power breaking and special techniques.

In the sparring event everybody fights everybody in the same weight category to qualify for the title match. The system equals many fights during one day, which makes the championship quite demanding and tough for the competitors. All title matches are carried out during a show with music, spotlights and interesting demonstrations. Because of this the title as National Champion has high status among all practitioners in Sweden.

The line-up in this year’s national championship was a great mix between experienced veterans and eager newcomers. Without a doubt the trials for next seasons national team in Sweden will be really interesting and tight.
