On the 1st European Taekwon-do Cup took part almost 200 competitors from 31 present clubs from the 11 European Countries such as: England, France, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Scotland, Slovenia,Sweden, Romania, Ukraine and Wales. It is very good result, regarding the fact, that there was first running of this tournament, and regarding the fact that before, during and after tournament, there were a lot of the open tournaments in Europe. On the European Cup the organizer prepared many surprises for spectators and competitors. One of them was spectacular night - it was special part for the spectators with black belts finals, awarding ceremonies, performances and demonstrations. The publicity was delighted with the demonstration of flexibility made by Chloe Bruce and presentation of sparring, self-defense made by young Taekwon-do practitioners and the phantastic demonstration made by well known Jaroslaw Suska, IV degree from Poland.
The European Cup attended many popular and well known competitors, actual or former finalists of the World and European championships such as: Daniel Dziala, Jaroslaw Suska and Milosz Moskaluk from Poland, Zak Espi and Guy Hennequin from England, Partick Carlstrom from Sweden, Andrey Paschnyk from Ukraine, Neil Ernest from Wales, Julia Cross from Scotland, Joanna Paprocka, Joanna Lipa and Malgorzata Rogaczewska from Poland and many others. The level of the tournament was high.
The first place and the biggest trophy went to MKS Lewart Lubartow, Poland - 66 points (8 gold, 7 silver, 8 bronze). Second place took ITA Ireland, 52 points (3 gold, 8 silver, 11 bronze). Third place took LSKT Lublin, Poland, 34 points (4 gold, 4 silver, 6 bronze) The 3 best schools in Europe will be presented on the AETF website soon.
The organizers made their best and the competition ran smooth. They presented own system of the on-line registration and the computer program for the tournaments.
The place of accommodation of the competitors was the Gatwick Europa Hotel in Crawley, beautifull old style hotel. All competitors was accommodated in one place, it was great opportunity to have many meetings and discussions. There was also time to sight see the town.
