1st European Cup 2005

The 1st European Cup is to be held in Crawley, England from 21st to 24th October.

The nearest airport is London Gatwick and as it is just 10 minutes from the venue and hotel we strongly recommend that countries use this airport. The registration and weigh in will take place on Friday 21st October from 11am until 11pm at the Gatwick Europa Hotel, the competition will then take place on 22nd and 23rd October with the departure of the countries on 24th October. A special rate has been agreed with the hotel of L30 (45 Euros) per person per night for a twin, L27 (40 Euros) per person per night for a triple and L40 (60 Euros) for a single room. This rate includes buffet breakfast and a 3 course dinner.

The competition is open to Blue belts up to 6th Degree aged 16 years (minimum year of birth 1989) up to 45 years. The events will include colour belt patterns & sparring and black belt patterns & sparring. There will also be a team sparring competition for the black belts where blue belts and above can also take part.

Basic Regulations Concerning European Cup
Approved by the AETF Board of Directors meeting
held on 7-9 January 2005 in Lublin


  1. The term
    The European Cup will be held in last quarter of the year. It will be three days event (Friday - arrival and inscription, Saturday and Sunday - competition).
  2. Participants
    Only clubs and schools that have valid ITF plaque certificate and national teams representing countries that paid annual fee to the AETF may take part in European Cup.
  3. Rules
    According to the ITF and AETF competition rules.
  4. Umpires
    All clubs or schools with more than 3 competitors taking parts in EC must bring at least 1 referee. All clubs and schools with less than 4 competitors taking part in EC can bring a referee but are not obliged to do it. The costs of referees are covered by their clubs or schools. The organizer must provide sufficient number of referees if proper number will not be brought by participating clubs or schools.
    The penalty of 250 Euro for the lack of referee.
  5. Divisions and groups
    There will be patterns and sparring divisions, individual and team in The European Cup. All participants will be divided for two groups. First black belts holders (I to VI dan), second colored belts holders (4 to 1 Kup). Colored belts are allowed to compete in team competition along with black belt holders.
  6. Age of participants
    The lowest level of participants (athlete's) age is 16. It means that in the year of the competition they have to reach age of 16. The highest level of athlete's age is 45.
  7. Fees
    Entry fee for individuals will be 70 Euros. 40 Euros will go to organizer and 30 to AETF. Entry fee for teams will be 30 Euros. A half will go to organizer and second half to AETF. The organizer pays for the travel (max. 250 Euro per person) and accommodation with full board for 2 delegates indicated by the AETF BD.
  8. General classification
    General classification will be fixed based on number of points taken according to following way:
    • individual black belt category:
      1st place - 5 points,
      2nd place - 3 points,
      3rd place - 2 points;
    • individual colored belt category:
      1st place - 3 points,
      2nd place - 2 points,
      3rd place - 1 point.
    • Team competition:
      1st place - 5 points,
      2nd place - 3 points,
      3rd place - 2 points.
  9. Trophies
    The winners of individual and team competition will receive medals and diplomas. The best three clubs/teams in general classification will receive cups rightly magnificent to the rank of such a big event.
  10. Sport Hall
    The size of the sport hall should make it possible to arrange at least 3 squares.
