This is to confirm, that the UNITED MARTIAL ARTIST of TAEKWON-DO ISRAEL (UMATI) organization was established on 19 July 2003 with Master Hector Marano as the ITF representative. After a free and democratic election, the Directive Commission was created and the inauguration of the UMATI - took place (the first Israel Federation Taekwon-do ITF recognized at the national level).

First on right - Leonardo Oros Duek, UMATI Secretary General on the last Euros 2005 in Terracina, Italy.
The organization started organizing courses for instructors in order to increase their level of techniques, physical condition and the knowledge of Taekwon-do philosophy. It should be mentioned that most of the instructors are new emigrants from Argentina who came to Israel in 2002.

The courses are organized till today twice a month. One meeting lasts for 4 hours and is conducted by the Technical Director of the organization, Sabunimgae Dany Roth IV dan. Additionally once a month a meeting of instructors and Directive Commission is held in order to exchange experiences, search new places to teach and provide all kind of help which instructors may need in their development.

Among the aims reached by the Association the most important are:

  1. to establish contact with the Ministry of Education and Sport which issued an official letter recommending Taekwon-do as a sport to developed in primary and secondary schools.
  2. to get a certificate which gives the authorization to Taekwon-do instructors, issued by the Ministry
  3. to incorporate Taekwon-do into various regional and government organizations with the help of the instructors affiliated to UMATI
  4. to establish a contact with Raana City, which gave us permission to adapt Taekwon-do ITF in the curriculum of the city schools in 2006
  5. to teach Taekwon-do in primary and secondary schools in different places in the country to promote the knowledge about this martial art.
  6. to teach Taekwon-do to the voluntary Police of Israel.

The main achievements on the national level are:

  1. I Technical Seminar for grades Cup conducted by Master Hector Marano on 20 June 2003 in the Municipal Sport Center in Megido.
  2. I Annual National Competition organized in Ashdod on 26 June 2004, in which took part 140 competitors, the Ministry of Education and Sport representatives and Presidents of different cities.
  3. National Technical Seminar conducted by a group of instructors from the organization in the city of Hertzilia, in which took part 100 students.
