3rd Open Cup "Moscow Challenge 2005"

23 of January 2005 in the Olympic Center in Sokolniki Area, Moscow have held the 3rd Open Cup “Moscow Challenge 2005”.

In this event participated 501 junior competitors from 27 clubs, 12 regions of Russia and from 3 countries: Georgia, Uzbekistan, Russia. Young competitors was competing in all 4 disciplines of ITF on 9 squers.

More than 120 umpires, volunteers and organize committee was helping by this event. The organizing committee tried to make this event more celebration than competition. So there was 450 medals in different categories for the young athletes.

More than 1000 spectators came to see this event and 4 TV companies was showing it in Russia television. Among the VIPs was Mr Tadeusz Loboda, the President of AETF, Russia and Moscow City government officials.

Except this massive event all the participants had the opportunity to see the Match Poland vs Russia. The crowd supported the competitors from both countries and was very happy to see real ITF top competitors. The All Russian ITF Federation is planing to make this event annual. We plan to heave a similar tournament on December 2005. We remind that Moscow Challenge is for juniors from 6-17 years old. Open for all countries members affiliated to ITF. We will be please to see you all in the beautiful city of Moscow for tournament and vacation.
