The International Taekwon-Do Camp was held from the 17th until the 26th of January 2005, in Lubartow, Poland and was attended by over 100 participants. There were 8 participants from England (including Hong Keat Looi), 1 and one from New Zealand (Carolina Dillen) – (it was the second camp in Poland for both of them), under the leadership of Tom Denis VI Degree – Coach of the English team and Gary Smith IV Dan, as well as 5 participants from Ireland (including Donel O’Donoghue, III Dan and Ciaran Ryan II Dan). Mr. Denis has been attending camps in Poland for many years now, showing especially to the beginners a good example of indomitable spirit. Poland was represented by competitors from 8 different Taekwon-Do clubs.
LSKT from Lublin was represented by Małgorzata Rogaczewska, III Dan, member of the female national team, the Taekwon-Do clubs of Milejow and Leczna - clubs of Mr. Rafał Gozdalski, II Dan, KS "Dragon" Janów and CzAT Częstochowa – clubs sent their regional junior squad, LKS Lotos Jabłonna - represented by the head instructor and coach of many successful male and female competitors, present as a guest - Tomasz Szczepaniuk, IV Degree. Not failing to mention of course, competitors from MKS Lewart Lubartów, with their stars, such as Milosz Moskaluk, Daniel and Ilona Dziala, Mariusz Walach and Michal Dziubicki. As you can see from the list of participants, it was worthwhile to attend the camp and to catch a glimpse of the level of the fighters.
The participants were divided into groups according to their age and level. Each participant also had the opportunity for some one-on-one time with the coach to practice their patterns or ask questions.
The classes were conducted by Mr. Jerzy Jedut, member of the AETF Technical Committee and Mr. Jarosław Suska, World and European Champion. 80% of the classes were dedicated to improving sparring techniques, in order to prepare for the upcoming national and international competitions. A special feature of the camp was the demonstration by Jaroslaw Suska, which delighted the audience and invoked in all spectators not only admiration and enthusiasm, but also strong motivation to improve their own skills.
Guests and participants of the camp, especially those who came from abroad, were able to visit the AETF headquarters situated not far from Lubartów.
The next International Camp will be in 6 months and you are already invited to participate in some extreme training!
