Swedish ITF activities in 2004
Technical
- Instructors meeting
One national meeting for instructors has been held, were 60 instructors attended. Discussion items were, among others, development of Taekwon-Do in Sweden and the upcoming seminar with Master Tran.
- Seminar with Master Trân Triêu Quân
Between 8th and 13th September, Sweden had its first visit of ITF president since 1994. The visit started in Stockholm with Örjan Eriksson as host. Master Tran had meetings with the Swedish Sports Confederation and with Dr Paul Höglund, president of Ju-Jitsu International Federation.
After the meetings Master Tran, Nicolas Tran and David Kerr was transported to the city Skövde, were the seminar was held. Under the management of Swavek Dydiszko the seminar turned out to be a great success. About 180 students participated, 13 of them took the opportunity to test for a new degree.
International seminars
- The national technical committee was represented at the international instructor's course arranged by ITF in Bruxelles October 22nd-24th.
Competitions
- Swedish competitions
Sweden has two international competitions each year. In April was Viking Cup arranged by Swavek Dydiszko for the 5th time. 300 competitors from 12 countries participated. Guest of honour was Master Wim Bos. In November was Swedish ITF Open arranged by Peter Logozar, with about 150 competitors.
Other competitions open for all national clubs are Stenungsund Open, an event with about 250 competitors, Talent Open, concentrated on children and juniors with more than 300 competitors, and the Swedish championship.
International competitions
- Sweden has been active in some different events. Between 23rd and 25th of April an international match between 5 countries was arranged by the Polish Taekwon-Do Federation. Beside Sweden were Germany, Finland and Romania invited. The Swedish result was 9 medals.
During the European championship in Finland, Sweden took the first gold medal in team male sparring ever. The result was in total 3 gold, 6 silver and 3 bronzes.
At World Cup in Florida, 19th -21st of November, Sweden won a bronze medal through Patrik Carlström.
At Impact Open in England, December 11th-12th, Sweden had a small team, which took 6 medals.
