Dear ITF Members!
On Boxing Day 2005 a seaquake triggered tsunami in Southasia caused one of the biggest catastrophes, which ever overtook the people in this geographical area of the world. At present the relief organisations on site estimate 160 000 casualties, with a unfortunately still increasing tendency. The exact number may never be acertained.
Around the Indian Ocean, in the first place, the poorest of the poor are affected. There is a lack of drinkingwater, food and medicinal drugs. We can not give help to the dead, but we (the members of ITF- Germany) can contribute to help the survivors. It is for that reason that the board of ITF Germany picked up the suggestion of out sport colleague Ralf Scheffel(TV Brechten) and determined to organize a Charity Tournament for the Flood Victims of Southasia!
The proceeds of this tournament will be completely transferred to a donation account of one of the relief organisations. In order to collect as much as possible we will invite athletes of other organisation to enter the contest. To the umpires we adress our request to allocate themselves without any consideration. No daily allowances will be paid. The coaches are requested to motivate as many active participants for this event as possible.
Please help to make this event a great succes. It will not only help the people of Southasia in distress, but is also a good publicity for humanity and ITF –TKD.
We are counting on you and your dedication.
Here is the information and entry form in MS Word document format.
Thank you very much!
Master Paul Weiler
President of ITF Germany
