14 countries: Canada, USA, India, Greneda, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Romania, Poland, England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and 4 current world champions participated in this years TKD Impact UK Open Championship held in Crawley, England, including:
The two day tournament started with all the black belt preliminaries in Patterns, Sparring, Power Test and Special Techniques.
On the Sunday the colour belts participated from the morning until early afternoon when the Black belt finals took place on a floodlit centre ring.
Following the individual finals the now Famous Grand Championship took place where the finalists were drawn against each other to decide the best of the best. Julia Cross from Scotland became the female champion after beating Joanna Paprocka from Poland and Zak Espi from England won the male version after beating Lukasz Jurkowski of Poland in two exciting finals that kept the audience on the edge of their seats.
A DVD of the finals and Grand Championship will be available on the impact website www.tkdimpact.com in January.
