Meeting of the ITF Board of Directors, in Riccione, Italy

The 3rd meeting of the Board of Directors & Chairs of Standing Committees, in Riccione, was very productive. Fourteen members of the ITF's Board of Directors and Chairs of Standing Committees had intensive meetings of 10 hours on July 7, 9 & 10, 2004.

In fact, many items were discussed and the large majority of these subjects were approved by unanimity. There was great familiar atmosphere and full understanding. More information on the official ITF website.

  1. Four new policies were discussed: These policies will be posted soon on our ITF website.
  2. Recognition of new affiliated organizations;
    In India as AA the Indian ITF Taekwon-Do Federation under by Mr. Rakesh Kumar and the Academy of Taekwon-Do of India under Mr. Jimmy Jagtiani, in Ireland 2 AAs, the All Ireland Taekwon-Do Association under Mr. Kenneth Wheatley and the Ireland Taekwon-Do Association under Mr. Stephen Cooley, in Japan as NA the ITF Japan under Mr. Kim Seong Deok and in Russia as NA the All Russian Taekwon-Do (I.T.F.) Federation under Mr. Lazos Tsilfidis.
  3. Report on upcoming activities:
    Very good reports regarding the following events; 1st World Cup in Orlando, U.S.A - November 2004, 14th World Senior Championships in Dortmund Germany - July 2005, 8th Junior World Championships in Honduras - July 2006, ensure that the preparation of these activities is progressing very well.
    The 1st ITF Magazine is under preparation for publication at the World Cup in November.
    This 1st issue will cover all aspects of the ITF organization and services offered.
  4. New appointments:
    The Board had approved the recommendations of the President to nominate Mr. Jean-Marc Demers as Chair of the ITF Communication Committee along with 4 members as follows; Mr. Paul McPhail from Oceania, Mr. Norman Bernard from Asia, Mr. Tadeusz Loboda from Europe and Mr. Claude Chin from America (to be confirmed).

According to the recommendations of GM Van Binh, Chair of the ITF Masters Promotion Committee, seven holders of 8th degree and 1 of 9th degree were nominated as members of the Jury Board for the promotions of 7th - 9th degree: Grand Master Van Binh, Master Trân Trieu Quân, Master Pablo Trajtenberg, Master Tom MacCallum, Master Benny Rivera, Master Javier Dacak, Master Hector Marano & Master Ung Kim Lan.

With the outcome of this meeting as mentioned above, the administration of the ITF is now in good position to act professionally with a good team and the proper tools to serve its members and to welcome new ones to the true ITF!
